‘Field of Vision’, 20 years of Photosensitive

PhotoSensitive, a Toronto-based collective of photographers, has been producing stunning black-and-white exhibitions dealing with social issues since 1990, many of which have shown at Brookfield Place. In September, it will be celebrating its 20th anniversary with a huge retrospective exhibition taking place in the Allen Lambert Galleria. Over the last two decades, PhotoSensitive has covered subjects such as homelessness, the Sick Children's Hospital, AIDS, water, cultural diversity and First Nations literacy. It has partnered with over 20 charitable agencies, including Save the Children, CARE Canada, Daily Bread Food Bank and the Canadian Cancer Society. The exhibitions have helped to bring awareness to the work of each agency and to garner donations from the public. ‘Field of Vision’ will showcase photos from every PhotoSensitive project and will also provide a history of PhotoSensitive, what it does, how and why.
